This month we got a letter from Jose and Marie Rosales from Silver City, New Mexico. They are quite proud of their restored '51 Ford F-1 and wanted to share it with everyone. The Ford still retains its ultra-reliable 226ci six-cylinder flathead as well as the stock manual transmission, complete with the original three-on-the-tree shifter. The '51 was restored as close to stock as possible in under three years, but the Rosaleses knew they would drive the truck regularly, so they opted for a 12-volt conversion, electric windshield wipers, and turn signals, so modern drivers can tell where they're headed. The beautiful red paint done by South West Collision there in Silver City turned out better than they'd hoped, and really set off the chrome grille, bumpers, trim, hubcaps, and beauty rings. They also had the original license plate restored and made stake sides to give the truck an even more classic look. Nice work!
